There are morning people, and then there is everyone else. Some of us are up by 5 a.m. and half way through our workout before everyone else is awake. Some mornings I am a true morning person, with a proper routine, and I leave the house feeling as though I really have it together. However, some mornings my routine is a bit more adventurous. The alarm clock didn’t go off or maybe it did but snooze was just oh so tempting. It happens to the best of us. Read below for my tips on how I get ready faster than I thought was humanly possible and make it look like I have my act together 🙂
Hair- we don’t have time to wash and blow dry it, however morning bed head will not do. Especially if you’re like me and your hair is neither curly nor straight but an awkward frizz somewhere in between 😬 The best option is to spray a detangler in it and pull it back into a sleek bun. I also use hairspray to smooth out any flyaways and make it look more polished. If results are unsatisfactory, do a quick braid. You can also do this with wet hair, if you have the luxury of time to take a shower in the morning.
Face- 5 mins means no time for anything fancy. My 5 minute face includes powder, concealer, mascara, and blush. Remember that sunglasses will cover a multitude of sins! Also, if you’ve only had 5 minutes to do this, chances are you didn’t have time for coffee! So the sunglasses also kind of serve as a ‘do not disturb’ sign 😎
Lips- a bold lip paired with sunglasses and a sleek bun pulls it all together and can even make you look glamorous. If you’re adventurous enough to try a red lip, go for it! However, any bold shade that adds color and life to your face will do. Remember, we only have 5 mins, so the rest of the makeup on the face is minimal.
Outfit- my go to outfit when I’m in a rush and have no time to really think of what to wear, is an all black look. It’s slimming, its sophisticated and it creates a nice canvas to accessorize & it’s easier to decide what shoes to wear with it. For me, it’s easier to pick out accessories than clothes. Top the all black ensemble with a bold accessory- think conversation piece.
